Capella Hotel Group and Verso Projects announce a landmark partnership to debut Capella Residences Brisbane in 2029. Marking the third Capella Residences globally after Seoul and Bangkok – and the first branded residence of any kind in Brisbane – this extraordinary collaboration will see the restoration and transformation of the historic Shafston House estate into an exclusive riverfront address. The result will be a rare offering where heritage meets contemporary architecture, and where Capella’s signature service defines a new era of residential living in Australia.

Set along the Brisbane River at Kangaroo Point, Capella Residences Brisbane will reimagine Shafston House, one of the city’s most treasured estates that has stood as a defining presence for more than 174 years, through a lens uniquely aligned with Capella’s heritage-led philosophy. Renowned for curating culturally rich and historically significant destinations, Capella is a natural custodian for this landmark site – once one of Brisbane’s most prominent private residences and a defining symbol of prestige in its era.

The project aims to set a new benchmark for integrated residential living in Queensland, combining world-class design, bespoke interiors, and hotel-inspired services. The lifestyle precinct will offer residents communal recreation, restorative, and residential facilities, integrating the luxuries of exceptional hotel amenities with the intimacy and comfort of a private home. Central to this offering will be the Capella Living Room – a signature expression of the Capella promise – providing a welcoming, residential-style space that fosters connection, cultural immersion, and personalised service, seamlessly extending the brand’s hospitality ethos into everyday living.

Additionally, two River Homes will be constructed along the embankment, complemented by a private marina, porte cochère with drop-off and pick-up facilities, and private basement garage parking.
