London-based artist Shezad Dawood has been revealed as the inaugural winner of the Patina Art Residency – a new annual art award from Patina Hotels & Resorts celebrating artists whose work reflects a commitment to impact and sustainability. The winner of the Residency is selected by an illustrious panel of judges including some of the world’s foremost art patrons and leaders, chaired by Maria Sukkar, Co-Chair of the TATE Middle East North Africa Acquisitions Committee.  

Globally renowned for leading the avant-garde fashion movement, Antonioli expands its footprint to one of the world’s most inspiring destinations with an exclusive retail experience at Patina Maldives, Fari Islands, a resort where design, culture, and conscious living flow together in harmony. Running until 31st October 2025, this immersive activation will showcase a meticulously curated edit of the most progressive designers.

Patina Maldives, Fari Islands is pleased to announce the appointment of Beñat Alonso as Director of Culinary. With over two decades of international culinary experience, including leadership roles at Michelin-starred restaurants and iconic hotels across the globe, Alonso will oversee the resort’s vibrant  dining programme, comprising 13 distinct culinary concepts, as well as in-villa dining and the resort’s sustainable farming initiatives.
