Natural luxury island resort Amilla Maldives has partnered with local brand The Clay Studio Maldives to create a dedicated ceramics workshop.

The Clay Studio enables guests of all abilities, ages and skill levels to experience the soothing art of shaping and moulding clay, on a grounding and tactile journey deeply rooted in Maldivian artistry and mindfulness.
Providing an unhurried sensory experience, the studio is a welcoming haven that reflects Amilla Maldives’ continued commitment to holistic wellbeing and creating meaningful, inclusive experiences that go beyond traditional resort activities. Designed as a meditative retreat, the space encourages guests to slow down, connect with the earth, and tap into the creative flow of working with clay.
The collaboration further enriches Amilla’s vibrant tapestry of cultural and artistic programming. Each session empowers guests to transform raw clay into personal narratives, crafting authentic keepsakes fired in Amilla’s on-island electric kiln. These unique creations will serve as meaningful mementos that are truly "Made in Maldives”.
The Clay Studio is currently the only resort-based studio in the Maldives offering ceramic art experiences, as well as canvas painting, creating a more comprehensive and diverse creative arts offering that allows guests to explore multiple artistic mediums in one destination.
Guests can enjoy hands-on sessions in wheel throwing, hand-building techniques, and pottery painting, as well as premade ceramic painting, with an on-site Ceramic Art Instructor who will guide and assist them throughout the experience. These are complemented by canvas painting and candle making workshops. Adults, couples, and inquisitive young minds from the Sultan’s Village kids club alike have the opportunity to connect with their inner artist and immerse themselves in the quiet satisfaction of creation, while private masterclasses and tailored workshops offer an intimate, entirely bespoke experience for families and couples.
“This partnership with The Clay Studio Maldives beautifully reflects our dedication to celebrating local creativity,” shared Shiman Mohamed, Resort Manager. “By bringing this contemporary ceramic tradition to our shores, we look forward to honouring homegrown talent and offering our guests an intimate, immersive way to engage with Maldivian creative culture.”
