AMILLA MALDIVES LAUNCHES 200-HOUR YOGA TEACHER TRAINING RETREAT

Updated: May 30, 2022

Guru Aniket Bhosale to lead Maldives’ first resort-based yoga teaching course from 1-21 June 2022

Pioneering island resort Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences will host the country’s first resort-based 200-hour training retreat for aspiring yoga teachers from 1-21 June 2022. Led by Aniket Bhosale, a highly accomplished maestro in the fields of martial arts, yoga and meditation, the programme is accredited by the World Yoga Alliance and will guide practitioners deeper into their yoga practice, instilling confidence and knowledge, while nurturing a new generation of passionate teachers.

The curated 21-day training programme at Amilla Maldives includes both theoretical and practical yoga techniques, enabling participants to dive deep into their own, personal practice; learn about the depths of yoga as an ancient science; and practice teaching methodologies to safely share these practices anywhere in the world as a certified yoga instructor. Upon completion of the 200-hour course, participants will receive an official certification from the World Yoga Alliance during a beachside graduation dinner.

Returning to Amilla Maldives, Aniket Bhosale is an accomplished martial artist with black belts in Taekwondo, Hapikido and Kungfu, and the founder of the art of Wingfo – ‘The Martial Way to Enlightenment’. Born in Maharashtra, India, Aniket studied under a host of Indian Yoga Masters, and is qualified in a variety of practices including Ashtanga, Hatha, Sukshma and the sleep-inducing Yoga Nidra. Aniket brings his calm yet motivational style to the teaching training programme, guiding and empowering participants on their spiritual journey.

Alongside the programme, participants will also have unlimited access to Amilla Maldives’ advanced Sensora sound and light therapy treatment. The multi-sensorial chromotherapy system is proven to bring the brain to rest, effortlessly reduce stress and induce a state of deep relaxation. Participants will also enjoy a bath ceremony and massage at the award-winning Javvu Spa and have access to the resort’s innovative Wellness Your Way menus.

Located in the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, Amilla offers a choice of accommodation options, from the breath-taking Treetop Pool Villas suspended 12 metres above the ground; the Reef Water Pool Villas, ideal for snorkelling fanatics to explore the house reef; or the Water Pool Villas with the best views of the island.

About Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences

A large, verdant natural island in the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences is an enchanting space for families, friends and couples to roam and play. Most of its 67 Villas and Residences are gracefully elevated over crystal clear waters; to venture through the island’s white sand fringe into its shaded heart reveals a surprisingly wild, green place – the inspiration for its organic garden-to-table concept. The resort’s Homemade@Amilla and Homegrown@Amilla initiatives are manifestations of a heartfelt commitment towards sustainability and resourcefulness. Indigenous ingredients - sea almonds, screwpines, countless coconuts, fragrant frangipani - are celebrated alongside the homemade, homegrown and homebrewed, bringing personality and vigour to nutritious, immunity-boosting menus. While not strictly a wellness resort, embracing dietary lifestyles is an intuitive part of Amilla’s Wellness Your Way, a fresh, holistic and highly customised approach to wellness that encompasses nutrition, mindfulness, movement and spa.
