ANNUAL HUA HIN MARATHON 2024 TO BE HELD ON 12TH MAY

The fourth edition of the Hua Hin Marathon will be held on Sunday 12th May 2024 at Wat Khao Krailart, Hua Hin, Thailand. Organised by the Preserve Hua Hin Group, which is spearheaded by globally acclaimed health destination Chiva-Som International Wellness Resort, the Hua Hin Marathon is one of the biggest marathon events in Thailand and is uniquely dedicated to the cause of supporting sustainability projects in Hua Hin. Registration for the event is now open, until 30th of April 2024.

The Preserve Hua Hin Group is engaged in a plethora of environmental and social education programmes that promote sustainable practices for Hua Hin’s community. The 2023 edition saw the participation of multi-Guinness World Record ultramarathon champion Sufiya Sufi and Thailand’s treasured triathlete Tulyatep Uawithya.  An inclusive event under the theme of Run2gether, Hua Hin marathon welcomes athletes of all abilities and this year plays host to sight and hearing-impaired runners who will be assisted by volunteers running with them. Officials of the event are expecting approximately 3,500 runners covering distances of 5 km, 10 km, 21 km and 42 km.  The first male and female marathon winners will be awarded the Royal Trophy granted by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

The Hua Hin Marathon has several objectives:

  • To motivate the public to engage in physical fitness for good health and longevity.

  • To raise awareness of environmental and social sustainability.

  • To continue to preserve and develop “Krailart Niwate” as the eco-spiritual tourism centre at the last remaining urban mangrove in Hua Hin.

The Preserve Hua Hin Group comes under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, and, along with the Hua Hin municipality, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, is co-organising the full marathon.

The race route starts and finishes at the Buddhist temple ‘Wat Khao Krailart’ in Khao Takiab. The routes are based on the different categories. Apart from the well-maintained roads and paths, runners will be able to enjoy the early morning sunrise over Hua Hin beach as they run on the white sand.
