‘THE FOOTBALL FEEDER’ JONNY MARSH BRINGS PREMIER LEAGUE NUTRITION TO AMILLA MALDIVES

Updated: Apr 14, 2022

Former Raymond Blanc apprentice and chef to Premier League soccer stars to lead nutritional dinners and workshops from 15-29 May

Michelin-star trained private chef Jonny Marsh, A.K.A. ‘The Football Feeder’, will host a series of exclusive wellness and nutritional masterclasses and dinners for guests at Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences from 15-29 May 2022. Counting elite Premier League players including İlkay Gündoğan, Jordan Pickford, Kevin de Bruyne, Kyle Walker and Luke Shaw among his clients, Jonny will share his expert nutritional tips with resort guests via a series of hands-on masterclasses and bespoke wellness menus, underpinned by Amilla’s pioneering garden-to-table philosophy and Wellness Your Way concept.

Trained at Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons in Oxford, Jonny became the youngest ever chef to be offered a prestigious mentorship under world-renowned Chef Raymond Blanc. Since then, Jonny has worked alongside some of the world’s top chefs, including Michael Caines, Marco Pierre White and Heston Blumenthal, and cooked for an impressive roster including royalty, celebrities and major sporting stars. Since returning to the UK, Jonny has honed his skills to become a pioneer in sports nutrition, specialising in developing tailored nutritional meal plans aimed at maximising individual clients’ sporting potential.

During his time at Amilla Maldives, Jonny will share pro tips for creating healthy meals, combining scientific methods and cooking techniques to enhance the nutritional value of different foods. Alongside these masterclasses, Jonny will hold two gala dinners and a pop-up breakfast combining mouth-watering flavours and nutritional ingredients, whilst also showcasing Amilla’s revolutionary Homemade@Amilla concept. The bespoke wellness menus will champion nourishing, fresh ingredients grown in Amilla’s organic and hydroponic gardens; and the resort’s ever-expanding selection of homemade produce, from pickles and sourdough to yoghurt, kefir and palm oil-free Nutella.

Amilla Maldives’ Homemade@Amilla and Homegrown@Amilla concepts ensure the resort delivers as much fresh, nutritional island-grown produce to guests as possible. Hitherto-overlooked ingredients are celebrated alongside the homemade, homegrown and homebrewed, bringing personality and vigour to nutritious, immunity-boosting menus. Amilla’s pioneering Wellness Your Way menus also ensure guests have an unrivalled selection of dedicated vegan/vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, low carb/keto/paleo options at all dining outlets; as well as a tailored selection of natural, low sulphite wines, homemade tonic water and sugar-free cocktails and mocktails.

The gala dinners will take place on May 20 and 27, and the nutritional masterclasses will take place on May 21 and 28. For more information visit amilla.com.

About Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences

A large, verdant natural island in the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences is an enchanting space for families, friends and couples to roam and play. Most of its 67 Villas and Residences are gracefully elevated over crystal clear waters; to venture through the island’s white sand fringe into its shaded heart reveals a surprisingly wild, green place – the inspiration for its organic garden-to-table concept. The resort’s Homemade@Amilla and Homegrown@Amilla initiatives are manifestations of a heartfelt commitment towards sustainability and resourcefulness. Indigenous ingredients - sea almonds, screwpines, countless coconuts, fragrant frangipani - are celebrated alongside the homemade, homegrown and homebrewed, bringing personality and vigour to nutritious, immunity-boosting menus. While not strictly a wellness resort, embracing dietary lifestyles is an intuitive part of Amilla’s Wellness Your Way, a fresh, holistic and highly customised approach to wellness that encompasses nutrition, mindfulness, movement and spa.
